National dance festival by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kasaragod

KASARGOD: The National Dance Festival will be held here from December 26 to 30.

The festival aims at spreading the message of national integration among the youth. Being held under the aegis of the Nehru Yuva Kendra, it is one among the 100 such festivals organised across India.

The event here will showcase traditional dances from Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, an official release here said.

The five-day fete, to be held at Sandhya Ragam auditorium, is expected to become a platform for learning and understanding the culture and traditions of various States.

A meeting chaired by District Collector Anand Singh has charted the programme schedule. Additional District Magistrate C. Vasudeva, Nehru Yuva Kendra Zonal Director S. Sathish, among others, attended the meeting.
